Philosophy

The Rockford Public Schools recognizes that there are students who possess high performance capabilities in one or more areas. These students (gifted learners) possess strong aptitude for reasoning, are capable of high-level academic achievement, and are capable of divergent production. This group of students has abilities and interests that require modification of the basic curriculum.


The vision of gifted education in the Rockford Public Schools is to provide exemplary differentiated programs and/or services enabling gifted learners to maximize their potential as productive learners.
